| 1.) Turning Points in Wisconsin History - Wisconsin Historical Society |
This site contains more than 800 primary source and other historical documents that relate to 50 significant eras and themes of Wisconsin history. Items include: letters, diaries, newspaper stories, maps, photos, posters, engravings, and museum objects and artifacts, stemming from earliest Wisconsin history up through the 20th century. This resource also includes typed transcripts of documents, suggested lesson plans, and background essays on how local events were part of a large national historical significance. |

| 2.) UW Oshkosh Archives |
The UW Oshkosh Archives and Area Research Center, or ARC, is one of 14 statewide and provides access to hundreds of local interest collections of historical material owned by the Wisconsin Historical Society. The Area Research center serves a geographic region including Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, and Winnebago counties and holds records only from that region. and holds records only from that region. | 3.) Virtual Exhibits -- Oshkosh Public Museum |
The Oshkosh Public Museum has compiled six online exhibits containing historic photographs, documents, and artifacts from our collections. Each of these six exhibits relates to national events and their effects on the Lake Winnebago Region. These events are Women's History; Pioneers and Immigrants; the Civil War; the Spanish American War; World War I; and World War II. (The development of Virtual Exhibits was supported with Teaching American History grant funds.)</ |

| 4.) Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies |
The Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies (WCSS) is a professional organization of social studies teachers. It's goals are to improve social studies teaching, develop the professional interests of social studies instructors, and cooperate with other organizations working for a better social understanding in the state, nation, and world. WCSS provides professional development opportunities, publications, and service to Wisconsin teachers. As an affiliate of the National Council for the Social Studies, WCSS is the professional organization for social educators in Wisconsin. |

| 5.) Online Dictionary -- Wisconsin History |
Wisconsin Historical Society's online dictionary gives brief descriptions of more than 2,000 famous Wisconsin people (and many not-so-famous ones). It provides the exact location of 4,000 communities in the state, lets you see them on maps, air photos, or satellite image with a single click, and explains how every county and 800 cities and towns got their names. Dozens of historical events are summarized, from the 17th-century Iroquois Wars to the Dow Riot of 1967. |

| 6.) Fox Valley - |
The Outagamie Museum recently completed it's "Fox Valley Turning Points" website, enabling users to access background information, primary source documents, and classroom activities for a selection of 12 turning points in the history of Wisconsin’s Fox Valley. The activities are geared for grades 4-8, but in some cases may be easily modified for other grade levels. Examples of turning points include: Treaty of the Cedars in 1836; Model T and Suburbanization; 1957 Appleton Wire Works Strike; and Modern Immigration. |
