The CESA 6 Pupil Services Program Support Consultant may provide service to regular and special education teams and parents in the following areas:

Assessment:

Conduct and/or assist with assessments (both formal and informal) of students with developmental, learning, psychological, psychiatric, and behavioral difficulties. Assessments may include initial evaluations, re-evaluations and evaluations needed to provide additional information for children with identified psychiatric or medical conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Reactive Attachment Disorder, and Learning Disorders. Assessment and consultative services can also be provided for children with low incidence developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and high-risk conditions and situations.

School Team Involvement:

  • Serve as member of or consultant to the IEP Team as assigned
  • Participate in child study team meetings 
  • Assist in IEP development 
  • Provide supportive consultation for parents

Behavioral and educational management and intervention:

  • Assist educators in developing and adapting programs to provide quality comprehensive instruction for students 
  • Assist in planning and implementation of inclusive education efforts 
  • Assist staff with behavior management plans and program design 
  • Assist in the completion of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans

Inservice Training: 
Provide inservice training for special and general educators on issues related to mental health, behavioral adjustment, and other topics as requested by school staff. 

 

Support services offered from the Pupil Services Consultant will be contracted by school districts on a time and effort basis. Services provided may include any and/or all of the services outlined above.
