Purpose:

     • Provide opportunities for collegial dialogue.
     • Explore new products and trends.
     • Empower and support group members to work toward common goals in their districts.

Pursuits:
Through the network, participants will pursue the following:

     •

How well am I able to facilitate in meeting the needs of each specific student population?

     • What issues and insights have classroom teachers shared with me that would benefit other network members?
     •

How can the network support me with the opportunities provided to me by my administrator?

     •

How can the network support my personal learning process?

     • What are some common goals, we, as a network, can attempt to achieve in our individual districts?

The Phonics Project is a locally designed wiki for first grade teachers using Fountas and Pinnell's Phonic Lessons.  It includes Smartboard lessons, computer practice links, worksheets, games, and assessments that we compiled from websites willing to share.  The credits alone are valuable to a new teacher looking for lesson ideas.
