Title III, Language Instruction of Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students, of the NCLB - No Child Left Behind Act, provides funds for national, state and local efforts that are focused to improve the education of English Language Learners (ELLs).

Title III funds efforts at different levels: national, state and local.  At the national level, Title III funds the United States Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition which administers Title III.  In addition, Title III funds the National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition which is one of the most comprehensive website resources dealing with educating English language learners.

At the state level, Title III provides funds to state education agencies to manage state level efforts related to English language learners.

Finally, Title III provides funds to local education agencies (CESA 6 ELL Center) to develop and operate education programs designed to support English language learners. All services are designed to support educators as they work to improve their instructional practice for English language learners.  Services and events are designed to meet ESEA and Title III goals, as well as provide high quality professional development which will ultimately serve school district staff, English language learners, and their families.
