Interested individuals must complete an application process that determines, in part, acceptance into the program. Candidates begin their teaching career while completing the Residency In Teacher Education program offered by CESA 6. Successful participation in the Residency In Teacher Education program allows candidates to work as teachers in the area of their expertise while simultaneously earning Wisconsin teaching certification.

Qualified adults holding a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, music, art, foreign language, computer science, technology education, mathematics, or science from an accredited institute of higher education can register for the RITE program by sending the following to CESA 6:

Official transcripts An official copy of PRAXIS I scores
Current resume An official copy of PRAXIS II scores or confirmation of the dates that the candidate will take the PRAXIS II test and verification of 3 years experience in degree area (does not apply to special education)


Once accepted, candidates must also successfully complete the program that includes formal instruction approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and provided by CESA 6, as part of the Residency In Teacher Education experience.

Tuition is $10,000 for a two-year program of instruction. Enrollees are also responsible for additional fees such as textbooks and test fees.
