LICENSE RENEWAL SUPPORT

CESA 6 provides PI 34 license renewal support for private and public school educators, who are required to maintain a current license for employment.  CESA 6 supports Initial Educators and Professional Educators in creating Professional Development Plans (PDP) as a part of their license renewal responsibilities.

Initial and Professional Educators will receive support related to understanding license renewal requirements, creating and implementing a PDP, and locating PDP review team members.

Wisconsin DPI - Trained Educators for PDP Teams

PDP Process Review and Writing Workshops

The CESA 6 Professional Development Plan (PDP) Process Review and Writing workshop is designed for educators who have finished Year One and will be in Year Two of their licensure cycle. Educators will be guided through a process to produce a plan that can lead to goal approval.

PDP Verification Workshops

Educators, who have had their goals approved and are writing Steps IV A and B, Reflection and Summary, will want to participate in the CESA 6 PDP Verification workshop.  We will assist you in making decisions on the required evidence piece so that your PDP will be ready for submission to a review team for final verification.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Wisconsin Quality Educator Initiative PI 34 requires that all school districts provide a comprehensive, quality support system for Initial Educators. The support system must include these key components:

  • A qualified and certified mentor who has been trained on the confidential formative assessment process

  • Certified PDP Review Team members

CESA 6 conducts both, Mentor Foundation training and PDP Reviewer Certification training to school district personnel, private and parochial school personnel, CESA DPI licensed personnel, and Institution of Higher Education (IHE) faculty.

Upcoming Trainings:

* The CESA 6 PDP Reviewer certification trainings are for NEW reviewers only.

* Individuals who need to RENEW their PDP Team Member certification will do so online, through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI): http://tepdl.dpi.wi.gov/pdp/-information-for-pdp-team-members

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER TRAINING

In order to receive a three-year Substitute Teacher permit you must complete Substitute Teacher training.  When a school district states that they will sponsor you, either they provide in-house training or that training is completed through your local CESA.

We invite individuals who are interested in substitute teaching to join us for comprehensive training. "New-to-subbing" adults must have at least a four-year Bachelor's degree in any area. Participants should not already have a teaching license or a substitute teaching permit.

Upcoming Trainings:
