CESA 6 provides an array of services to support the licensing of educators. These services include License Renewal and Alternative Licensure (RITE).

License Renewal Support Center and Educator Licensing
CESA 6 Instructional Services provides PI 34 license renewal support for both private and public school educators required to maintain a current license for employment. As a DPI approved license renewal site, CESA 6 supports educators creating Professional Development Plans as a part of their license renewal responsibilities.

PI 34 Consortium
CESA 6 Instructional Services provides leadership in assisting districts with compliance issues related to educator licensing requirements under the PI 34 rule. Consortium members receive guidance and comprehensive staff development in all three license categories, with a particular emphasis on assisting initial educators with license renewal needs.

Residency in Teacher Education (RITE)
CESA 6 Instructional Services provides leadership in teacher certification through an alternative route. Adults seeking a career change in order to become teachers are afforded that opportunity in the content areas of science, math, technology education, foreign language, special education, art, music, ESL/Bilingual. Educators currently teaching under an emergency license and employed in one of the mentioned shortage areas, may satisfy the Highly Qualified Teacher requirement by enrolling in and successfully completing the RITE program.
