Educational interpreters are licensed professionals who provide a communication link between students who use sign language for communication and the speaking environment of the general education classroom. Educational Interpreting is a related service provided in school districts to meet the communication needs of students who use sign language to communicate. Educational interpreters also interpret during extra-curricular activities. Many educational interpreters also provide interpreting services outside the school setting after school hours.
