Educational Programming and Instructional Strategies for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This is the second in a series of three workshops that covers all aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorder including Asperger Syndrome. This workshop will provide participants with a "best practice" approach for designing and implementing appropriate educations programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
 

Social Relation Skills and Strategies for Students with High Functioning Autism and Asperger Syndrome K-12

This is the third workshop in the Autism series. This training will provide participants with an in-depth focus on the primary area of difficulty for people with ASD, social relation skills. Particular focus will be given to "social understanding" Numerous tools and resources will be provided.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - REFRESHER COURSE

Boardmaker: Software for Making Picture Symbols
February 21, 2012
Presenter: Karen Stindt, MS OTR ATP

This workshop will provide a hands-on lab experience to create communication displays, labels, games, classroom materials and schedules. Boardmaker is a graphic database containing over 3000 Picture Communication Symbols in clip art form. Each symbol is paired with the written word and foreign languages are also available. The program allows you to make professional looking communication displays or schedules in minutes. The workshop will also highlight intervention techniques to incorporate the communication symbols into literacy, play and social skill activities.
